Western Bamboo is a specialist bamboo nursery set on acreage in the sand plains between Indian Ocean Drive and the Brand Highway north of Perth. If the most appropriate species is not stocked then it may be sourced through a third party or a referral given. Years of hands on experience and research have resulted in a good working knowledge that enables the matching of species to tasks. Many species have general or specific utility applications such as use for tool handles, edible shoots and so on. Windbreak and privacy screen species are a specialty, weaving, crafts, garden stakes, fencing material, musical instruments, as are feature species that are just too stunning to plant in a row but are best admired from all angles as a feature planting in your garden. The growing conditions in this area are quite harsh, ensuring that any bamboo that grows satisfactorily at Western Bamboo will perform very well in the less harsh conditions of Perth and elsewhere on the Swan Coastal Plain.
